Turkish scrap ends year strongly, at $400 threshold
Turkish scrap prices recorded a sharp increase in the last week of 2022, Kallanish notes.
A Turkish mill bought UK-origin HMS 1&2 80:20 at $396/tonne and bonus grade at $416/t cfr Turkey. This points to a sharp rise in prices compared to previous bookings. The previous UK-origin HMS 1&2 80:20 deal was concluded at $379/t cfr in the week through 23 December.
