Turkish scrap continues to soften on fresh bookings
Scrap prices in Turkey continued softening in the last week of 2023 on fresh bookings.
On Friday, three bookings were heard in the market. A Finland-origin supplier sold HMS 1&2 80:20 at $410/tonne and bonus grade at $430/t cfr Turkey, for beginning-of-February shipment. A western Turkish mill bought Adriatic-origin HMS 1&2 80:20 at $400/t cfr and a Marmara mill bought the same grade from Venezuela at $410/t cfr.
