Market judges further Turkish scrap rise unjustified
Scrap prices in Turkey are continuing their rise on fresh bookings concluded from Canada and the EU, Kallanish notes.
A Turkish mill is heard to have booked a Canada-origin cargo comprising 35,000 tonnes of HMS 1&2 95:5 and 15,000t of shredded at average $384/tonne cfr Turkey.
HMS 1&2 80:20 corresponds to $372-373/t cfr, pointing to a sharp increase compared to the last Baltic-origin HMS 1&2 80:20 deal at $349/t cfr.
