EU quotas hamper Turkish rod exports in October

Turkish wire rod exports declined -34% on-year in October to 125,987 tonnes, and were down -14% from September, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish. Their average price fell to $468/tonne in October versus $497.5/t in September and $550/t in October 2018. Exports of round rod below 14mm diameter comprised 74,834t, down -49% on-year.
