Turkey’s January rod exports decline despite new destinations
Turkish wire rod exports, which dropped in 2020, started 2021 with a further decline, falling by 7.1% on-year to 102,534 tonnes in January. They were also down from the 121,632t exported in December, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish.
Their average price was, however, up to $519.4/tonne from $465.5/t in January 2020 and $508/t in December 2020.
