Turkish rebar struggles with low demand, high scrap
Turkish rebar producers are facing a slowdown in both domestic and global demand this week. However, they have still increased their quotes due to the on-going increases in scrap prices.
As a result of the sharp increases seen in scrap prices since the beginning of the week, rebar export quotes which have increased to $610-620/tonne fob at the beginning of the current week, have further risen to $620-630/t fob actual weight despite the stagnancy in rebar demand.
