Turkish rebar rises amid costlier scrap, livelier demand
Having failed to buy scrap at desired levels, Turkish mills have increased their rebar quotes in both the export and domestic markets amid scrap prices rising.
Although Turkish rebar export quotes started the week with further declines, they increased by mid-week after Turkish mills were convinced they could not source scrap at below $500/tonne cfr Turkey. On Thursday, they stood at $740-760/t fob Turkey actual weight, up from $720-740/t fob on Tuesday.
