Egypt surge drives Turkish rebar export growth in January
Turkey’s rebar exports increased 19.4% year-on-year to 636,503 tonnes in January, mainly driven by a surge in shipments to Egypt. Their average value/tonne declined to $327/t from $491/t a year ago, Kallanish calculates from the latest Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
The rise in exports follows four consecutive months of decline since September 2015.
