Turkish raw materials sourcing soars in July
Turkish iron ore imports surged 47% on-year in July to 1.09 million tonnes, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish. Their average price was $101/tonne versus $128/t in July 2019.
Brazil remained the top supplier with 418,518t, up 72%, but Russia came roaring into second with 239,300t, up 121%. South Africa supplied 171,885t, slightly up on last year, while supply from Sweden was flat at 165,027t.
