Turkish mills reduce rebar, scrap booked still lower
Turkish mills reduced rebar export quotes last week after booking a considerable tonnage of US and Baltic scrap at lower prices than before the previous week’s Bayram holiday.
Following the eight deep-sea scrap bookings reported up until Thursday evening that took US scrap prices down to $292/tonne cfr Turkey, a ninth deal was concluded on Friday for Baltic scrap. This had HMS 1&2 80:20 priced at $285.5/t and bonus at $295.5/t.
