Turkish rod exporters withdraw following scrap hike
After dropping wire rod offers further last week, Turkish mills backed off on Friday following the latest increase in scrap prices.
Turkish wire rod export offer prices had decreased to $410-415/tonne fob Turkey from $415-430/t fob a week prior, due to the very low level of demand.
Although domestic demand in Turkey increased slightly due to the further depreciation of the lira against the dollar, demand in the export market has shown no improvement.
