Turkish mills book more scrap, prices jump again
Turkish mills’ demand for scrap continues to be strong, but the few imported scrap suppliers currently active in the Turkish market are asking for higher prices.
In the most recent deep-sea deal, which will be shipped from the Norwegian Sea, 17,000 tonnes of HMS 1/2 95:5 was booked at $290/tonne cfr Turkey.
Another deal was concluded from the EU on Tuesday for 20,000t, comprising HMS 1/2 75:25 at $267/t and 10,000t shredded at $279/t cfr Turkey.
