Turkish merchant bar quotes slide amid buyer pressure
Turkish merchant bar producers are seen struggling to hold their prices amid insufficient demand and declining scrap and billet values.
On Friday, producers’ official export quotes were pegged mostly at around $650-670/tonne fob Turkey for angles, IPN-UPN sections, flat bars and IPE sections, down $10/t from the low end of last week’s range. However, $640/t was also available from more aggressive producers.
Demand in the global market remains limited…
