Turkish merchant bar rises on costlier raw materials
Turkish merchant bar producers increased their export quotes last week due to the continuing hikes in scrap and billet prices.
On Friday, producers’ export quotes were mostly pegged at around $720-750/tonne fob Turkey for angles, $730-760/t for IPN-UPN sections, $750-780/t for flat bars, and $730-760/t for IPE sections. Prices as low as $690/t were also available from the producers that have a production cost advantage, however. Prices rose by $30/t on-week.…
