Turkish merchant bar prices rise following billet surge
Turkish merchant bar producers increased their prices in the second half of last week as billet values soared following the Turkish government’s statement about starting earthquake-hit area reconstruction in 3-4 months.
On Friday, most producers’ export quotes were pegged at $750-770/tonne fob Turkey for angles, $760-780/t for IPN-UPN sections, $770-790/t for flat bars, and $760-780/t for IPE sections, up $10/t on-week.
