Turkish merchant bar collapses on lacklustre demand, competition
Turkish merchant bar producers have decreased their prices sharply due to lacklustre demand and tough competition.
On Friday, producers’ export quotes were mostly pegged at around $670-700/tonne fob Turkey for angles, $680-710/t for IPN-UPN sections, $700-730/t for flat bars, and $680-710/t for IPE sections. Prices at and below $650/t were also however available from the producers that have a production cost advantage and are selling more aggressively.
