Buyers deem Turkish merchant bar export prices uncompetitive
Turkish merchant bar producers are seen enjoying domestic demand while struggling to sell in export markets. Global buyers are finding Turkey’s prices mostly too expensive and avoiding booking high volumes, while keeping their purchases limited to urgent needs.
On Friday, most producers’ export quotes were pegged at $790-810/tonne fob Turkey for angles, $800-820/t for IPN-UPN sections, $810-830/t for flat bars, and $800-820/t for IPE sections.
