Turkish iron ore imports rise in 2017

Turkey's iron ore imports rose 4.9% to 10.93 million tonnes in 2017, despite a fall in procurement from its main supplier Brazil, Kallanish notes from the latest Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data. The overall average value/tonne of these imports increased to $92/t in 2017 from $67/t a year earlier. The iron ore-rebar value spread widened to $361/t last year from $311/t in 2016.
