Turkish iron ore imports fall despite Sweden-origin surge
Turkish iron ore imports fell -7% on-year in November 2018 to 744,268 tonnes. Their average value meanwhile grew to $92.9/tonne from $88/t in November 2017, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish.
Brazil was by far the main supplier in November with 426,675t, although this was down -5% on-year. Sweden provided 150,036t versus zero a year earlier, and intake from Russia fell -22% to 109,454t.
