Turkish imported scrap prices hike on fresh deals
Turkish mills accelerated their September-shipment scrap purchases before the Eid holiday, concluding numerous scrap import bookings. Scrap prices have risen further with the fresh deals.
A US-origin cargo was sold on Wednesday at $276.5/tonne for 20,000 tonnes of HMS 1&2 80:20, $281/t for 15,000t of shredded and $286.5/t cfr Turkey for 5,000t of bonus grade. This was for shipment in the second half of September, Kallanish notes.
