Turkish imported scrap drops on fresh Baltic deal
Prices have decreased sharply in the Turkish scrap market following a Baltic-origin deal concluded on Thursday, Kallanish notes.
The cargo was sold at $268/tonne cfr Turkey for HMS 1&2 80:20 and $278/t for bonus grade. This comes after Baltic- and US-origin deep-sea scrap offers were previously at $277-282/t and suppliers were resisting lower prices.
