Turkish scrap import market cools
Turkish steel producers have made a quiet start to the week in terms of scrap purchases after concluding numerous deals last week. This is mostly due to the low level of rebar demand.
Following last week’s bookings at $452-454/tonne cfr Turkey for HMS 1&2 80:20, deep-sea scrap suppliers are seen targeting above $460/t cfr. Short-sea scrap offers from Romania, meanwhile, are mostly at $440-445/t.
