Turkish scrap hits 2.5-year high
Turkish mills’ demand for scrap slowed last week, with only a few deals heard at $360/tonne cfr Turkey; however, on Friday, prices jumped again significantly, Kallanish notes.
Turkish mills were faced with a significant increase in offers on Friday. This was the result of the price rises seen in the European and US domestic markets, the stronger euro, firm global demand and the sharp increase recorded in iron ore prices.
