Turkish HR flats exports slump despite US demand
Turkish hot-rolled flat steel exports under HS code heading 7208 fell 43% on-year in June to 204,291 tonnes, according to the latest Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish.
Shipments abroad of the most-exported product – HR flats up to 3mm thickness under HS code 720839 – slumped 39% to 75,283t, as shipments to Italy plummeted 59% to 23,567t. Exports to Spain and Bulgaria also declined considerably.
