Turkish finished steel consumption decline eases slightly
Turkish finished steel consumption fell -27.7% on-year in January-August to 16.7 million tonnes, while finished steel production was down -17.3% to 22.2mt, Kallanish learns from the Turkish Steel Producers Association (TCUD). This compares to -30.5% and -19.2% declines respectively in January-July.
Long and flat steel consumption decreased by -40.6% to 7mt and -14.3% to 9.7mt, respectively.
