Turkish exports of rebar struggle, wire rod improves
Following Turkey’s 20% energy tariff hike, the outbreak of war in Israel has further hit Turkish rebar exporters.
Despite the rise in production costs, Turkish mills have been forced to decrease rebar quotes this week on the impact of the war.
On Thursday, Turkish mills’ official rebar offers were at $565-575/tonne fob Turkey actual weight. Offers for mesh-quality wire rod, meanwhile, are at $570-585/t fob.
