Erdemir boosts blast furnace capacity following reconstruction
Turkish integrated flat steel producer Ereğli Demir Çelik (Erdemir) is set to inaugurate its reconstructed blast furnace on 29 October, it says in a stock exchange statement.
Upon completion, the steelworks’ second reconstructed blast furnace will have its hot metal production capacity boosted from the previous 1.625 million tonnes/year to 1.775m t/y, Kallanish notes.
