Turkish import scrap values collapse, domestic stable
Turkish mills have kept their domestic scrap buying prices unchanged since last week, Kallanish notes. Imported scrap values have declined sharply on a deal concluded from the EU.
A Marmara mill bought France-origin HMS 1&2 80:20 at $376/tonne and shredded and bonus grade at $396/t cfr on 6 August. The supplier is heard to have received an initial bid at $370/t cfr.
