Turkish domestic scrap prices rise on imports surge
Turkish mills have raised further their domestic scrap purchasing prices in the past two weeks as scrap import prices surged, Kallanish notes.
Integrated long steelmaker Kardemir raised its DKP buying price to TRY 1,205/tonne ($341/t) on 5 August from TRY 1,175/t set on 1 August. Alloy steelmaker Asil Celik's DKP price increased by TRY 40/t over July to TRY 1,140/t on 2 August.
