Turkish domestic scrap prices rise
Some Turkish mills have raised their domestic scrap purchasing prices at the end of last week. Turkish scrap import prices remained stable on-week, but the lira has depreciated, notes Kallanish.
Local alloy steelmaker Asil Celik has lifted its domestic auto-bundle (DKP) buying price to TRY 1,530/tonne ($354/t) on 13 May from TRY 1,510/t, set on 11 May. The latter was up by another TRY 20/t over the company's last asking price in April.
