Turkish domestic scrap demand strengthens, prices rise
Most Turkish steel mills have further raised their local scrap buying prices this week, Kallanish notes.
Following higher imported scrap and billet prices, most Turkish mills are seen to have increased local scrap buying prices slightly, while only a few kept prices unchanged this week. As a result of sharp rises seen in imported scrap prices and a shortage in short-sea scrap and billet, demand for local scrap has grown stronger.
