Turkish coking coal imports slump despite US surge
Turkish coking coal imports under HS code 27011210 fell -48% on-year in July to 319,995 tonnes, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish. Their average price was $108/tonne versus $199/t in July 2019.
The US and Russia supplied 217,931t and 102,064t respectively. In July 2019 the US supplied zero while Russia provided only 16,767t. The main supplier last year, Australia, did not provide any coal this year.
