Turkish billet imports slump in May
Turkish billet imports under HS code 720711 fell 29% on-year in May to 235,099 tonnes, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish.
Although intake from Russia was 201,754t, this was down 16% on last year. The average price of Russian-origin imports was $777.8/tonne, according to TUIK, compared to $618.6/t a year earlier.
