Turkish billet imports end uptrend in June
Turkish billet imports under HS code 720711 fell 15% on-year in June to 256,606 tonnes, their first on-year drop in 2023. Intake was also down 18% from the previous month, Kallanish notes from Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
Russia dominated supply again, providing 179,383t, although this was down 22% on-year. Malaysia and Algeria supplied 27,401t and 16,869t respectively versus zero and just over 6,000t last year.
