Turkish billet imports decline on-year in July
Turkey's July billet imports declined on-year as increased intake from the CIS and alternative markets could not offset the slump in shipments from China, Kallanish notes from the latest Turkish Statistical Institue (TUIK) data.
Billet imports fell by -13% year-on-year to 298,655 tonnes in July. The overall average value/tonne of these imports grew to $438/tonne from $370/t a year ago.
