Turkish billet exports slump despite increased Morocco intake
Turkish semi-finished product exports, the vast majority of which were billet, plummeted to 56,797 tonnes in March versus over 260,000t in March 2019, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish. This was also down -46% from February exports.
HS code 720711 billet accounted for 56,558t, of which Morocco, Tunisia and Ethiopia took in 29,067t, 15,050t and 12,187t respectively. This was up 24% in Morocco’s case but down -7…
