Turkish billet exports sink to six-year low
A small parcel to Tunisia saw Turkey’s semi-finished steel exports rebound slightly in December after zeroing in November, but they remained considerably down on-year.
The Tunisia shipment comprised 8,791 tonnes of HS code 720720 semis, while 1,467t of this product was also shipped to Bosnia in December. HS code 720711 billet exports totalled only 1,310t, with 1,150t going to Ethiopia, Kallanish notes from Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
