Turkish mills resist rebar reductions despite stagnant demand
Turkish rebar producers are resisting further decreasing their rebar offers, despite the low level of demand.
Mills reduced offers to $430-435/tonne fob last week from $440-450/t the previous week. Quotes remain mostly unchanged this week.
This is mostly the result of scrap offers having remained high in recent days at $277-282/t cfr Turkey. Moreover, mills find it unnecessary to lower prices further after last week’s decrease did not help spur demand.…
