Turkey's June steel output gains, pig iron unchanged
Turkey produced 3.07 million tonnes of crude steel in June, up 4.34% on-year but down 4.42% on-month, according to worldsteel data monitored by Kallanish.
Pig iron production was 0.83mt, slipping 0.31% on-year and by 6.84% on-month.
The on-month decreases in pig iron and steel output were due to weak demand and the week-long Eid holidays, prompting many mills to schedule maintenance.
