Turkish consumption decline slows further, exports slump
Turkish finished steel consumption fell -25.8% on-year in January-September to 18.9 million tonnes, while finished steel production was down -16.2% to 25mt, Kallanish learns from the Turkish Steel Producers Association (TCUD). This compares to -27.7% and -17.3% declines respectively in January-August.
Nine-month long and flat steel consumption decreased by -39.4% to 7.8mt and -12% to 11.1mt, respectively.
