Turkey's slab imports surge in September
Turkey imported 193,341 tonnes of slab in September, up by 24.4% from the same month in the previous year, Kallanish notes from Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
Russia contributed 59% of Turkey’s September imported slab quantity, seeing only a marginal 0.5% decrease in supply to 114,527t, compared to 115,120t last year. The average price in September for Russia-origin slab was $536.2/tonne.
