Turkey’s September HR flats imports rise 28%
Turkey’s hot rolled (HR) flats imports increased 28.2% year-on-year to 467,954 tonnes in September as supplies from Russia surged again y-o-y. The average price of these imports dropped to $508/tonne from $663/t a year ago, Kallanish notes from the latest Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
This follows a 33.1% y-o-y rise in imports to 505,571t in August and an 82% growth to 518,341t in July, again driven by Russian-origin shipments.
