China drives Turkey’s September seamless pipe imports surge
Turkey’s seamless pipe imports grew 47.7% year-on-year to 42,978 tonnes in September, driven by a surge in China-origin imports, Kallanish notes from the latest Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
The average price of these imports dropped to $838/tonne from $1,207/t a year ago, TUIK data shows.
The doubling of imports follows a -48.6% y-o-y drop to 21,365t in August when China-origin imports almost halved on-year to 16,288t.
