Turkey’s scrap imports increase significantly in February
Turkish scrap imports increased further in February, by 89% year-on-year to 1.78 million tonnes, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish.
Over 95%, or 1.74mt, of the February imports were obsolete scrap. The USA was the main supplier at 386,158t, followed by the Netherlands with 286,926t, and the UK with 215,544t. These three countries each more than doubled supply on-year. Russia supplied 127,182t, up 19.2% on-year. France, …
