Turkey’s scrap imports increase significantly in February

Turkish scrap imports increased further in February, by 89% year-on-year to 1.78 million tonnes, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish. Over 95%, or 1.74mt, of the February imports were obsolete scrap. The USA was the main supplier at 386,158t, followed by the Netherlands with 286,926t, and the UK with 215,544t.
