Turkey's scrap imports decrease in June
Turkish scrap imports declined in June, after increasing in May, mainly due to a plunge in intake from the US, Kallanish notes from the latest Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
June's total scrap imports stood at 1.3 million tonnes, down -33.4% on-year and down from the 2.1mt procured in May. The overall average value/tonne of these imports rose to $279/t from $259/t a year ago.
