Turkey's scrap imports plunge, billet rises in July
Turkish scrap imports dropped by -30.6% year-on-year to 1.07 million tonnes in July, dragged down by a plunge in intake from the CIS and the US, although imports from Europe surged. The total average value/tonne of these imports declined to $262/t from $282/t a year earlier, Kallanish calculates from the latest Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
