Turkey’s scrap imports decline in February
Turkish scrap imports fell by 7.6% on-year in February to 1.91 million tonnes, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish.
Over 97%, or 1.86mt, of the February imports were obsolete scrap. The Netherlands was the main supplier at 294,164t, down 31.9% on-year. The US followed with 294,051t, up 8.2%. Venezuela delivered 165,414t, versus 45,515t last year.
