Turkey’s scrap, billet imports soar in June
Turkish scrap imports soared in June, by 19.2% year-on-year to 1.53 million tonnes, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish.
Over 95%, or 1.46mt, of the June imports were obsolete scrap. The USA was the main supplier at 285,556t, up 8.4% on-year. Russia followed with 230,907t, up 38.6%. The Netherlands delivered 188,999t versus 129,173t a year ago. Belgium more than trebled its deliveries to 140,007t. Lithuania supplied 94,559…
