Turkey imports mammoth scrap tonnage in July
Turkish scrap imports further increased in July, following their significant June surge. They rose 29.1% on-year to a mammoth 2.36 million tonnes. They were also up from 1.53mt in June, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish.
Over 97%, or 2.29mt, of the July imports were obsolete scrap. The USA was the main supplier at 569,480t, up 69.2% on-year. Russia followed with 310,066t, up 11.8%. Belgium delivered 233,097t versus 207,1…
