Stagnant demand pressures Turkey’s rebar prices
Turkish mills are seen struggling to sell in both domestic and export markets after increasing rebar quotes due to the rises seen in energy costs from 1 April.
After increasing quotes by $10/tonne since last week, offers for rebar and mesh-quality wire rod stood on Thursday mostly at $960-970/t fob and $1,050-1,070/t fob Turkey respectively actual weight.
However, increased prices are failing to find support from demand, resulting in some mills conceding on offer…
